Renewable Energy

When it comes to energy we all have a decision to make that is much bigger than ourselves.
Do we choose to live in a way that contributes to a global environmental problem by using fossil fuel generated energy?
Or do we choose to be part of the solution?
To be part of the growing tribe of Australians choosing renewable energy.
We choose energy that is cleaner and more cost effective.
We choose energy that is better for us, better for our community and better for our environment.

SOLAR

We love our sunburnt country.
Our sun-filled days make Australia one of the most optimal locations worldwide to harness renewable solar energy.

What is Solar Power?

Solar Power is earth’s most powerful energy source. It is electricity made from the sun.
It works when the sun’s rays interact with the cells in a solar panel to create energy.
Handy gadgets like inverters, batteries and power management units then go on to convert this energy into electricity that we can use to power our lives in a way that is most cost effective and better for the environment.

Why Choose Solar?

Good question, but some better questions are:
Why wouldn’t you want to reduce you reliance on external utility companies and their dictated prices?
Why wouldn’t you want to be more independent and reduce your reliance on expensive, polluting, and scarce fossil fuels?
Why wouldn’t you choose cleaner air and a cleaner environment?
Solar Power offers you the ability to become more independent by tapping into a renewable, sustainable, naturally abundant power source, in fact the most powerful energy source that we currently have access to on Earth!
Using solar power reduces greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, and significantly lowers your carbon footprint. Solar power is a clean and easily accessible source of energy.
Cleaner energy production means cleaner air and a cleaner and more beautiful environment for us to live in.

Hybrid Solar Systems

A Hybrid Solar System means you can have your cake and eat it too.
You have the independence and financial benefit of creating, storing and using energy generated by your solar panels. You also have the security of still being able to access the grid.
Your hybrid solar power system doesn’t just generate power for immediate use. It stores it in batteries for later.
When your battery is full, electricity is fed back onto the grid. When your battery is running low your handy power management unit will re-charge it in an off-peak period to save you money.
Power flow is seamless. Black outs? Not for you. Your system will just start using up stored energy.
Now that’s seriously good.

Off Grid System

Imagine never paying an electricity bill again.
Power Sun Solutions is proud to create systems that combine two essential criteria – exceptional quality and unbelievable cost effectiveness.
Advanced solar energy systems mean you no longer need to rely on the grid.
And unlike older systems it won’t cost you a fortune in specialist electrician fees to install.
It’s advanced in technology but simple in its application.

Solar Hot Water

A solar powered steaming hot bath or shower can be enjoyed whilst at the same time decreasing the amount of greenhouse gases we emit and saving money.
It works by using either a flat plate or evacuated tube solar collector. Like a regular solar panel the collector uses energy from the sun and, in a tube collector even the heat from the air on a cloudy day, to generate enough energy to heat water. Safety valves, pumps, boosters and storage tanks all work together to ensure you have a seamless and safe supply of hot water in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way.

WIND

Generating electricity from the naturally occurring power of the wind is currently the cheapest source of large-scale renewable energy.
Of all of Australia’s clean energy, 30% is produced by wind farms. 5
We’re full of wind! In fact, Australia has excellent wind resources by world standards.
Wind energy is harnessed using turbines.
When the wind blows over the turbine’s propeller-like blades they spin around. The blades are connected to a main shaft that is pushed by the spinning.
This movements creates electricity.

HYDRO POWER

Hydropower is electricity generated from the energy of falling water.
This energy is captured when water falls on a series of turbines. The falling water turns the turbines. This action generates energy that is then converted into electricity.
Hydropower is the grandfather of renewable energy. It is the most mature in development and is currently used in more than 160 countries worldwide.
In Australia more than 120 hydroelectric power stations generate 8% of our electricity. 6

PEOPLE POWER

Just like riding a bicycle…literally. People power is the use of kinetic energy such as footsteps, the winding of a hand crank or bicycle pedals to generate power.
A walkway leading to Olympic Park at the London 2012 Games used the energy of footsteps to illuminate itself.
Sydney’s Westfield Shopping Centre used the power of millions of shopper’s footsteps to light up more than 3,000 Christmas tree lights.
People power offers a very hands-on (pun intended) opportunity for people to get engaged with energy production.

Independent power source
