The Power To Create Your Own Sustainability
Powersol Solutions gives people the capacity to create and manage their own power, water and food with maximum efficiency and minimum waste.
We are building a sustainable community business and we are passionate about giving practical solutions such as natural swimming pools, aquaponic food producing systems and renewable energy to the world. We understand the need to keep costs low and we are uncompromising on quality and service, as we genuinely want to build a solid reputation in our community for ourselves and the industry that we are working in.
Individual and local solutions to global issues
Through advances in scientific research and technology the potential to create a sustainable integrated approach to energy, water and agriculture becomes increasingly accessible to the world. This is critical in the context of the current global environmental, cultural and political climate. We need to manage our shared resources better collectively and we needn’t waste time waiting for governments and corporations to recognise this obvious goal as priority. We can establish independent and communal sources of energy, water and food; We can naturally decentralise the inefficient ownership, production and management and stewardship of our natural resources.
Through education and working examples we can transform the way we produce and manage our energy, food and water.
Definitions of important terms

Aquaponics: A system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic creatures supplies the nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purify the water:
‘thanks to its automatic recirculating system, aquaponics does not require much monitoring or measuring’
Aquaculture: The rearing of aquatic animals or the cultivation of aquatic plants for food.
Hydroponics: The process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil.
Grey water: The relatively clean waste water from baths, sinks, washing machines, and other kitchen appliances.
A natural swimming pool is a living fresh water ecosystem. Creating a functional natural pool requires establishing and maintaining homeostasis. This homeostasis is achieved through balancing symbiotic elements – different varieties and concentrations of minerals, rocks and plants. This allows you to enjoy clean, fresh flowing water without any toxic chemicals, just like nature. Add beauty and value to your home, enjoy relaxing, playing and swimming in a mineral rich, lush landscape. A natural pool will also attract native wildlife such as birds to your home, as well as creating a permanent, natural source of water on your land.
We have a selection of environmentally friendly and locally sourced materials to construct your natural pool. This allows you to customise your natural pool to your personal tastes and preferences.
Natural Pool versus Conventional Pool
The materials for constructing a natural pool are cheaper and significantly more environmentally friendly than those of a conventional pool. We source materials that we know to be the highest quality so that we can guarantee longevity and long term sustainability of the natural pool. A natural pool does require some minimal maintenance and effort on your part, but nature and simple symbiotic biological processes actually do most of the work for you.
Conventional swimming pools are expensive to build and maintain. They require large amounts of water, energy and time to maintain, as well as the consistent use of chemicals that many people find irritating to the skin. Cement and fiberglass and highly CO2 intensive materials and prone to damage over time.

Aquaponics is an extraordinarily efficient and productive way to organically grow food such as vegetables, salads, fruits and herbs, as well as cultivating a variety of fish and other aquatic life.
It is essentially a symbiotic relationship between hydroponics and aquaculture, where waste produced by the fish and aquatic life nutrify and nourish the plants, which in turn filter and purify the water.
Aquaponics is an ancient, well researched and robust food production system. There is evidence of ancient civilisations such as the Aztecs and 6th Century Chinese farmers utilising aquaponic principles to cultivate and produce food. There has been tremendous research and interest in aquaponics in modern times as we collectively come to terms with our global need for food security and environmental conservation and protection. Conventional agriculture and the food grid has proven to be wasteful and inefficient in terms of land, water, energy, infrastructure, time and conventional costs. There is also the costs of mass, large scale environmental destruction, as well as creating negative health consequences for people and animals. Aquaponics allows us to address these macro, global, big world issues on a micro, local, manageable level – on the level of communitites, households and the individual. It is on the individual level which we can make choices that literally make the world a better place. Our personal choice to grow and manage our food on a sustainable level and to support aquaponic farming can contribute to food security on a community, national and global level.and nourish the plants, which in turn filter and purify the water.
Aquaponics for your home
You can produce your own food using Aquaponics. We can design and build an Aquaponic Food Production System for you customised to your requirements and preferences. This is influenced by factors such as available space, climate, environment and your budget. Our designer will assess your options and work with you to create a system that’s right for you. We believe that everything can be functional and beautiful, and we will ensure that your Aquaponics unit can be harmoniously and aesthetically integrated with your space.

Consultation
To make the most of your consultation, consider the following:
- Preferred plants, what food do you like to eat?
- Preferred size and dimensions
- Any questions or concerns you have about aquaponics in general
- Whats your budget? Take into consideration how much you are currently spending on water and food
Natural Pool with integrated Aquaponic Food Production System
We create an Aquaponics system that is integrated with your landscape. This is built with your Natural Pool functionally in an aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, and highly productive manner. Many varieties of food can be grown using Aquaponics but there are various plants and aquatic life that are highly recommended and productive. We work with you to design an Aquaponics system that is perfect for you and your lifestyle, so you can successfully grow and eat the foods that you like the most. Its about you having the fresh food that you want on your plate, harvested from your own backyard.
Good to Know
- Aquaponics uses up to 90% less water than conventional farming. The water loss is through evaporation and plant usage.
- Aquaponics is energy efficient. It requires up to one third of the energy of conventional farming.
- Aquaponics can give up to 8 -10 times more vegetable production in the same amount of time and area than conventional gardens and farms.
- Labour can be reduced as much as 40% while useful byproducts are created that can be used to farm other crops, trees, soil, water and to create electricity.
- Aquaponics can enable the production of fresh vegetables and fish protein in arid areas and regions as well as water limited farms.
- Aquaponics is a working model of sustainable food production wherein plant and animal agriculture are integrated and recycling of nutrients and water filtration are linked.
Grey water is used water from your shower, bath, bathroom sink and laundry. A grey water management system allows you to filter, treat, and utlise this water for home and garden use. You can use grey water in the laundry and toilet, as well as for watering and irrigating your garden.
Efficient and wise water management is crucial in Australia with our limited fresh water supply. Greycycling your water is good for you, your community and the Earth. Greycycling helps you use your water more efficiently and cost effectively. It decreases pressure on our waterways, as well as shared public resources such as damns and sewerage treatment plants and the associated energy costs. Moreover, it prevents water waste and contaminated water going into our waterways and creating more pollution. Fundamentally, it allows us to understand how precious and fragile this natural essential resource is, how the products we use effect us and our water, and how we can reconnect to the natural water cycle.
