Freedom, Sustainability and Independence.

These words are not just ideas or concepts.

Freedom, sustainability and independence are decisions…a lifestyle. A practical lifestyle that you can live today. Ultimately its about power- feeling empowered and capable.

This is choosing a lifestyle that recognises and utilises your naturally available and renewable resources. Self sustainability, freedom and independence is co-creating harmoniously with your environment. True power, being truly empowered is about being in balance and harmony with what is around you, knowing that you can work in sync with your environment, and that your environment can support you.

Solar Panels
Solar Panels are made of nifty little things called photovoltaic cells. When many of the cells are constructed together in a panel they create an electric field. When the sun’s rays hit a solar panel, particles of light (let’s call the little guys photons) start to interact with the cell. How? Our friendly photons get a little pushy and knock electrons free from the structure of the cell. These free electrons all start flowing in the same direction, creating a current. The solar panels allow us to harvest this current, eventually transforming it into usable electricity.
Power Sun Solutions has combed the globe to find panels that provide excellent quality and value for money. Find out more by clicking here Luxen Solar and Seraphim Energy.
Grid
The power grid is where we traditionally get our electricity. So at night when your solar panels aren’t producing power, your home uses the grid. Of course if you use a hybrid system with battery and power management you can dramatically reduce how much you rely on the grid. Or go off the grid completely! Ever seen your power meter run in reverse? It’s beautiful! Harness the sun with solar power and the electricity company could end up paying you!
Inverter
The inverter is a little bit like a translator. It takes the energy your solar panels produce and transforms it into a form that you can use to watch your favourite movies, keep your ice cubes frozen, power the vacuum cleaner…basically anything you do in your home that requires power.
Power Sun Solutions use JFY and SMA inverters. We do this because they are the very best we have found. Their quality and productivity speaks to the experience of their makers.
Battery
The sun’s energy is stored in batteries. Power Sun Solutions chooses batteries for performance and longevity that ultimately saves you money. So during peak times you can still save on electricity by using stored energy. Kokam, Fronius, Ampetus and Tesla batteries use the type of innovation we love. The type of innovation that creates the best quality products while also saving you money.
Wind Energy
Wind is a clean, renewable energy source that uses the flow of air to create electricity. A single, small wind turbine can generate electricity for a single home. In the last 25 years, the cost of generating wind power has dropped 80%.1 And by 2050, wind energy could supply up to 12% of the world’s electricity demand.2
1. Based on information found at the International Energy Agency website as at May 2014
2. International Energy Agency (IEA) 2008, Renewable Energy Essentials: Wind, IEA.
Sun
The earth receives more energy from the sun in just 1 hour than is used in the entire world in one year. Amazing, right? With Australian homes bathing in an abundance of sunshine every day, tearing up electricity bills and even getting off the grid entirely isn’t a dream…it’s plain and simple fact.

NOTE

General notes about the PowerSol Solutions Solar Calculator
This calculator is a guide which can indicate projected savings, solar array investment payback times and other general information based on your current rates of energy consumption. For a more accurate projection, we recommend a consultation with an accredited solar designer.

Average collectible sun hours figures derived from the Clean Energy Council:
Northern Rivers- 4.2, Bris-4.3, Cairns-4.2, Syd-3.9, Melb-3.6, Perth-4.4, Hob-3.5, Canberra-4.3, Ade-5.0, Alice Springs-5.0, Darwin- 4.0,
These figures are averaged estimates, and actual daily figures will vary on specific location, season, and weather

*GST is not incurred when residential systems export solar energy to the grid.
*Self consumption is the total amount of energy consumed by the household. Energy for daytime use is produced through the solar array. Energy consumed at night is imported from the grid.
Retail electricity rates are higher than exported solar rates.
*Projected energy expenditure is based on averaged current use.
These figures are based on your current energy usage and current energy prices staying stable. These figures do not account for inflation, and energy price increases.
